Aerobics Championships

Haileybury once again proved itself to be one of the top Aerobics schools in Australia with wonderful success at the National Schoolaerobics Championships in Adelaide.  Haileybury Boys Open A team claimed the national title for the sixth consecutive year and were followed in second place by the Years 7 and 8 team and in third by the Open A second team.  Kenji Fujihara and Alan Cook respectively won gold and bronze in the Senior Singles and were followed up by Marcus Moltzer and Yoshi Fujihara who won gold and bronze in the Primary Singles.   The Senior Aerobics team won silver in their division.

The Open Girls competition is always tough and Haileybury's A team turned on its best form, when it counted, to win the bronze medal.  This is the first time Haileybury has won a medal in this elite girls competition.

Also in the girls, the Year 9s and Senior Open B came fourth and fifth respectively, with the Years 7 and 8 Newlands girls in sixth place in a Senior Division.  The Years 5 and 6 Newlands Primary girls also came in fourth.

Guru of Aerobics Mrs Kristy Kendall deserves the accolades for providing the opportunity for so many students to enjoy success in this energetic sport.
