Both teams were unbeaten and shared top position on the ladder leading into the game. The Haileybury girls demonstrated great character to come back from 1-2 down early in the second half to lead 3-2. A superb Carey goal seconds before full time saw the game end with an appropriate result. Francesca Marinucci has been an outstanding Captain of Soccer in 2009; the team has two more games to secure their third premiership in a row. Soccer is one of Haileybury Girls College most popular sports with 12 teams playing each week from Years 7 to 12.
