Much Ado About Nothing

Shakespeare's comedy has taken on many forms in the past 400 years and Haileybury's senior students led by Director Nic Frame delivered a rousing, amusing performance which was, as Mr Frame put it, an "irreverent take on the Bard's work".
Thomas Cross as Benedick, Amy Foyster as Beatrice, Peter Bain as Claudio and Maddison Connaughton as Hero, all juggled their busy academic schedules with a tight rehearsal time line and delivered outstanding performances.
The evil Don John was played superbly by Stephen Hunter who was supported by an amusing performance by Andii Huynh as Borachio. Other notables were Eamon Shanahan (with special dispensation to have a beard at School for two weeks) as Leonato and Zac Cracknell and Lewis Bell who delivered on the physical comedy as Dogberry and Verges.
The play caps off a wonderful year of drama in the Senior School with the Year 10 play Boy Overboard, and Jesus Christ Superstar preceding Shakespeare.
